Choices

A great older post from Nathan Bransford's blog is about characters and choices.

As always, it's a funny read, but his point really resonated with me. If a situation is really a dilemma, the character should be able to make either of the choices and honestly have to decide between them. If, for some reason, the character doesn't have the capability to pick one of the paths, then it's not a real choice and we realize that the author is sneaking out of the dilemma.

No sneaking!
