R.I.P., Sapphire

Sapphire passed away at noon today. She'd been a little off lately but we had no idea that she was suffering from liver cancer. Fortunately, I took her to the vet on Wednesday and tests revealed it.

I say 'fortunately' because it means we didn't make her suffer. She wasn't quite herself but she wasn't in agony. We were able to spare her that.

She was beautiful and smart and tough and had the loudest purr I've ever heard and the loudest snore to go along with it.

And now she's gone. And the condo doesn't quite feel like a home tonight.

I am very sorry for your loss. Cats are truly wonderful, amazing and never boring creatures. I only wish I had words to bring you comfort.

I'm so sorry!! The worst thing is that you'd love to snuggle your kitty when you feel down and that's the one thing you can't do.

*hugs*

Thanks, ladies. It was strange getting up this morning and not having to peer at the carpet to be sure I wasn't about to step on her like I nearly did every morning. :)

There may be another cat in my future but I'm not sure yet. For now, remembering Sapph will have to be enough.
