Look around

So, I was walking to the library this morning. My exercise schedule calls for a mid-length run but I'm still tired from last week's tough workouts so I decided to walk the twenty-odd minutes to the library and then run back.

A good decision, but I felt bad for wimping out. I was stomping along, muttering to myself about how it's Monday morning at 8:30 and I'm already not following my plans. I read an article this morning claiming that blog touring and that sort of promotion does nothing but annoy readers, and since I'm hard at work on my tour I was muttering about that too.

If you can believe it, I was even giving myself grief about my inability to follow the message of "Planning to Live" and enjoy each moment to the fullest. "Quit being such a grouch and savor, dammit!"

Amazingly, this didn't help.

But then I looked around.



I wish you could have been there because I'm not sure this does the view justice. The sky was gorgeous, the grass smooth and a deep rich green, and the trees looked incredible.

And I was stomping past it, not even noticing how amazing the world is.

Notice. Make sure you notice something neat or cool or awe-inspiring or unexpected today, okay? It's certainly turned my mood around and maybe it'll help you too. :)

I'm writing this on my iPhone outside the library because I didn't want to wait until I got home and risk forgetting how clear everything feels right now. I've never posted from the phone before so if anything looks weird let's chalk it up to the ever-popular "technical glitch" and move on. :)
